Artist: Chiu
Tak Hak
|
Profile:
When Chiu Tak Hak moved to Paris from China in 1972, he was attracted to the
city's historic shops and cafes, which seemed like quiet stages waiting for
the players to arrive. He sought to capture the moodiness, the feelings of mystery
and solitude, on canvas.
Chiu's style combines realism with elements of impressionism and abstractionism.
He builds around a realistic central image, adding collage and other elements
to create a sense of depth. He is a self-taught artist, and his work has been
recognized at art shows and galleries in Germany, Paris and Hong Kong.
