Vincent Van Gogh

Born in the Netherlands 1853,died 1890. Vincent Van Gogh only painted between 1881, and 1890,and only sold one painting during his lifetime. He had strong religious beliefs, which were a strong influence on his work. His early works were in dark, dull tones but half way through his career he began experimenting with vibrant colours, which is portrayed in his work the “Sunflowers”. Van Gogh was undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the art world of the 20th century.
